Mrs. Muneeba Ahmad
I am ELD (English Language Developer) teacher at Riffenburgh Elementary. My name is Muneeba Ahmad and I am from Pakistan. I came to the United States as a teenager. I spent most of my time in Richmond, Virginia, raising two intelligent, kind and passionate daughters who participated in the IB program. One is a fourth-year medical student and the other is a MIT graduate engineer. My husband is a global energy expert and holds a Ph. D in engineering from Georgia Tech. He has worked in many countries, and I have had the privilege of travelling with him. That is why I am passionate about the IB program and the standard of education it entails.
I hold a BA in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Education from Lesley University. I have completed a post-graduate certification in education from the University of Nottingham, UK, and holds a ELD/ ESL (English as a Second Language) license. I have over ten years of diverse experience working at top public schools and elite American International schools.
My all-time favorite book is The Well-Trained Mind. This book not only guided me but also played a great role in my parenting, where I taught my kids the importance of reading. Reading can make one curious about learning and exploring the adventures of the world. I strongly believe the love of learning begins with reading and that is why I am an educator. I am passionate about what I do and love the International Baccalaureate culture at Riffenburgh. Looking forward to working with Riffenburgh students and their lovely families in this upcoming exciting year.
