About Me
How many years have you been doing your job? How many years at Riffenburgh?:

I have always wanted to be a teacher. I have been teaching for eighteen years and have been at Riffenburgh for five years.

What I love most about teaching is…:

Teaching is one of the most rewarding jobs for so many reasons. I love the process of watching beginning readers turn into enganged readers. I also love all the moments in between.

My favorite children's book or author is...:

Some of my favorite authors include Patricia Poloco and E.B. White.

My hometown is...:

Sunny Phoenix, Arizona. I was born and raised in Phoenix and moved to New Mexico where I lived for eighteen years. My family moved to Colorado just a few years ago. We are really enjoying the area and all it has to offer!

My Interests & Hobbies include...:

I have many different interests and hobbies. When the weather is nice, I love being outdoors. I like to bike, hike, and four-wheel with my family. I recently ran my first half-marathon. Our favoirte vacation destination is on a warm beach. I like to cook and spend as much time with my kids as possible. Both of my children are grown. My son is attending college in Montana studying aviation and my daughter is currently living in Hawaii working for a non-profit. Two things I have tried is para-sailing and surfing. Something I still want to do someday is travel to Europe.

My Classroom
Courses Taught:

I have taught both first grade and second grade.

About My Classroom:

My classroom is a very kid friendly environment. I want my students to feel that our classroom is like thier second family. I encourage students to make connections with thier classmates and treat one another with respect and compassion. My expectations and procedures are taught at the beginning of the year. With these in place, our classroom can run smoothly and we will all learn a lot.
