This is my first year as a paraprofessional and my first year at Riffenburgh. I am a new graduate from the University of Northern Colorado and am thrilled to be a Riffenburgh Roadrunner!
I love seeing the excitement in a child's eyes when he or she makes a connection. That "lightbulb" moment is something that I believe every teacher aspires to generate. I also love watching students solve problems, especially as they grow more confident in their ability to figure the world out.
There are too many to choose from, but a few I love are Jan Brett, Shel Silverstein, Kevin Henkes, Kate DiCamillo, and E.B. White.
I was born in Dallas, Texas, but raised in Colorado. I have lived all over the Front Range area, but I went to school right here in Fort Collins from 6th-12th grade.
I love to read, write poetry, listen to music, dance, sing, and solve puzzles. I also love all things cute and fluffy (dogs, I'm looking at you).
I aim to make my classroom as student-centered as possible. I want students to be given the opportunity to make positive choices, as well as advocate for themselves and their unique needs. I provide multiple seating options, learning tools, and additional supports to help students be successful and grow as much as possible.
