For the past 13 years Riffenburgh school has offered Running Club which encourages increased fitness and aerobic conditioning for our third through fifth grade students. Staff members and parents who wish to help with the club and are willing to run with the students join our sessions. Running Club generally meets twice a week for six to seven weeks in the fall and spring. We work to increase students running ability using games, relays, longer runs off campus and timed miles to check improvement-a favorite for most students!. If students do not like to run this may not be the club for them, but it is very inclusive to all fitness levels and these activities are fun ways to improve fitness and learn how to be a more effective runner. We encourage our running club members to sign up for local races and to make running a part of their daily life.
